Composer and talented pianist from Sevastopol, Tatyana Velikodvorskaya, and singer from St. Petersburg, Alexandra Zaryankina, formed their musical duo ten years ago. In 2014, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of Crimea, they performed successful joint concerts in Sevastopol and Simferopol. Tatyana Velikodvorskaya’s beautiful romances were warmly received by audiences in St. Petersburg.
Works by contemporary composers hold a special place in Alexandra Zaryankina’s rich repertoire. For many years, she dreamed of recording the poignant romances by Tatyana Velikodvorskaya, set to poems by Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak, and modern poets of Crimea.
A distinctive feature of this album is that it features music performed by the composer herself. Tatyana Velikodvorskaya traveled to St. Petersburg to record the disc with Alexandra Zaryankina.
The album, titled «Glimmers of Fate,» paints musical portraits of women, exploring themes of love and separation, hope and happiness, open arms, and intertwined hands.

The exquisite and at the same time vivid vocal cycle «Canciones amatorias» by Enrique Granados has been adorning Alexandra Zaryankina’s repertoire for many years. Rarely performed, it has been warmly received by audiences both in Russia and beyond.
Enrique Granados was not only a composer, but also an outstanding pianist. According to his contemporaries, Granados the pianist was a «wonderful colorist, his nuances were exhaustively diverse» — which can be heard in his works, in the endlessly beautiful and lively melodies.
The creation of the album «Love Songs» became possible thanks to the creative partnership of talented pianist Igor Yegorov and the possessor of a warm dramatic soprano, Alexandra Zaryankina. The delicate and deep sound of the piano, the holistic perception of the entire cycle, reveal in Igor Yegorov not only a wonderful pianist, but undoubtedly a very interesting conductor in the future. The emotional and thoughtful performance, the way the timbre of Alexandra Zaryankina’s voice is revealed in Spanish music, rightfully makes the cycle «Canciones amatorias» the singer’s calling card.

Thanks to a belief in the idea of «Dreams Must Come True» made the album «Over the Rainbow» become realized.
Singer Alexandra Zaryankina and pianist Alexander Timofeev met and began their artistic collaboration not by accident. Their introduction was made by the intuitive creative wisdom of musician Dmitry Chasovitin. Alexander was teaching under Dmitry Nikolaevich’s direction at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory of Music, with whom Alexandra was recording the album «Dreams of Scotland» and planning future projects together. One of those projects was an album of songs from films and musicals, but Dmitry Chasovitin’s life was tragically cut short in 2013. Such celebrated jewel of a musician and mentor as Dmitry Chasovitin is impossible to replace. In his absense, the album took on a new spirit: a spirit of respect, of love and of devotion to her mentor’s memory, as well as the beginning of Alexandra’s own personal collaborative artistic journey.
«Over the Rainbow» transports us into a world of musical theater and film, featuring some of our favorite tunes from movies such as «The Godfather,» «The Wizard of Oz,» as well as legendary musicals «West Side Story,» «Phantom of the Opera,» and «Cats.»
All of us, from time to time, need to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere and charms of past decades so that we can rest our souls and gather inspiration, and in doing so find happiness; not somewhere over the rainbow, but in the here and now, every day of our lives!

This CD is a result of joint artistic aspirations of two creative people.
Dmitry Chasovitin has been in love with Scotland for years, and has visited it many times. The country has blown him away with its beauty and the songs of its people.
Alexandra Zaryankina grew up in the countryside, surrounded by woods, hills, peace and quiet. She brings the sense of Purity and Beauty.
With the effort of these two people, Scottish songs can now be heard in Russia.
